When and Where was the Vietnam war?

The Vietnam war was about a 20 year war. It had lasted from about 1955 to about 1975. The offical date is very wide spread. It truly depends on which country you are looking from. As in when they joined the fight. The U.S. joined on November 1, 1955. During this time period it was fought in around mostly South Vietnam. But it did also go into the surrounding countries. Which were Cambodia and Laos. It was also considered to be in North Vietnam because of the bomb runs over it.
